Volunteer Profile
Hi, my name is Wendy Hitchell and I have been involved in volunteering since my eldest son started preschool 23 years ago. To begin with I helped out with things my children were involved in like school or scouts. As they grew older I started attending Adult Education classes and began volunteering in that area.
Helping out at Warrandyte Neighbourhood House was attractive to me because it is an important part of the local community and has a strong volunteer culture. It is a very supportive environment and I have met many lovely people.
Improving the skills of volunteers is encouraged and I am learning my way around the computer, photocopier and fax machine, and enjoying myself.
